  1. Thanks again for all your work on this issue. I thought I was going to have to do some digging, but you’ve done so much already.

This whole scenario would be funny if it weren’t for these facts:
1.) Only 4 of the 11 characteristics of “blight” need to be deemed present in an area for the WHOLE area to be deemed blighted.

2.) Only 5 need to be deemed present – by the city – for them to be able to use eminent domain to take property. And they can take any property in a “blighted area”.

3.) These two facts combined means – like the Denver Post mentioned – eminent domain could be used on that Veterinarian on Santa Fe who works out of a beautiful, stately 1913 mansion. Not because that mansion’s blighted, but because it’s in the “blighted area”.

    • Andy – thank you for taking the time to read and understand what we are facing in Littleton. If you want to help, we can always use another set of boots on the ground and the almighty dollar! It takes money to fight city hall along with an army of volunteers. Please pass the word. We have a second Blog – Your Littleton – Your Vote. You might want to take a look there too. We are starting a 63 day count down to the election day featuring a different blighted property each day along with the blight conditions. It will alarm you…..or it should!
